Ethridge Residence
A small, modern and sustainable beach house built in Bethany Beach as a counterpoint to the Owners' traditional, colonial home in New Jersey. At just over 2,000 sf, the house is small and efficient but day-lighting, a strong connection to the outdoor living spaces and design features such as the steel stair make it feel open, bright and airy. Cork siding, bamboo cabinetry and polished concrete floors add design interest and help limit the home’s carbon footprint while passive heating and cooling, thermal storage and a solar array make it a net zero building.
