Keep it simple, let the big moves be the drama. In this case it doesn't get much more dramatic than a 7ft x 14ft sliding skylight.

The plywood roof deck is left exposed as the finished ceiling product. A pickling stain has been adhered to lighten the tone and subdue the grain the grain pattern, thus providing a reflective surface and a warm, natural element.

No.1 Douglas Fir adds warmth to the space. Custom clerestoy lighting allow light to fall deeper into the space. Large, sliding glass doors connect the interior iving to the exterior living.

Thanks to a skylight and the absence of conventional wall cabinets, the kitchen looks more like an airy extension of the living room than a dedicated space for cooking. With the sink, oven, and storage tucked behind and a long countertop in front, the island serves as a more versatile built-in feature.

The cedar weatherboard ceiling in the living pavilion features triangular recesses for lightbulbs.
