Commercial Architectural Design with a Residential Planter Twist

With the opportunity to become featured in ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Bastrop, Texas, Slick Rock Inc. put their best foot forward. The project’s architect, Katy Garcia, didn’t hesitate when given the opportunity to work with Slick Rock Inc. She used the concrete planters and concrete spill basins as one of the final touches for the home’s renovations.

Adding a unique and decorative design to the exterior of the home, Slick Rock’s concrete planters offered a very concrete solution to the episode's modern design efforts. The concrete planters chosen for the renovation enhanced the home’s exterior in two ways. They provided a visually appealing element along and a stunning conversation piece for the homeowners.

With the satisfaction of the homeowners during their first feature of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, ABC reached out to feature Slick Rock Inc in another episode of their show. This time for a house located about 2 hours southwest of Bastrop in Floresville, Texas. Slick Rock Inc. jumped at the opportunity, this time introducing additional variations of their concrete planters.

Perfect when used alongside other outdoor landscape architectural elements, the concrete planters introduced for the project in Floresville varied from a few different concrete elements.

Katy quickly realized the benefits of using a combination of concrete elements. She would be able to create a unique landscape design that was eye catching, trendy and visually appealing to the new homeowners.

By combining Slick Rock Inc’s precast concrete planters with Katy’s expertise both episodes of ABC’s Home Makeover were successful. This gave the homeowner's exactly what they wanted: a rich, modern and successfully renovated dream home.
