The Anza Airstream was designed to feel more open than other trailers, with little upper cabinetry.

In order to keep the interior from looking too visually chaotic, the team “wanted to limit the number of finishes,” says Schlesinger, primarily using Carrara marble. The pendant over the table is by Apparatus Studio. It has rigid tubing and is mounted in such a way to prevent any swaying when the vehicle is in motion.

The new palette utilizes white oak wood floors and tabletops, white plastic laminate, aluminum, Scalamandre fabric leftover from the couple’s home remodel, and surprisingly, Carrara marble.

Before: The original finishes were dark: “Late eighties, dark wood, dark colors, and shag carpeting,” says Bryan.

A built-in couch provides an additional perch to enjoy the surroundings.

Designed by Helen & Hard Architects, Woodnest is a pair of rentable dwellings suspended from living trees in Odda, Norway.

A hallway provides access to the bathroom (along the left-hand side), as well as the main entrance straight ahead.

On the opposite side of the tree house, a small kitchenette comes complete with a sink, an induction hot plate, and a small fridge underneath. Other additions include fresh flowers from local florist Stilk & Stæsj, as well as soap from the Norwegian brand Fitjar Islands.

Along the rear wall, a sunken double bed fills the corner, surrounded by custom shelving and wood paneling. Hidden single beds provide additional sleeping space for up to four adults total.

The Brat is his favorite project so far. “It’s tiny, but the top folds out and it’s very functional,” he explains.

Interior designer Markie Miller and her father Lance Price, a woodworker, teamed up to rehab the old trailer.
