Gone are the days when the hotel lobby simply served as place to check in and out of your stay. Nowadays, lobbies can also provide the ideal backdrops to get your ‘gram on—and many are destinations worth visiting in their own right.

We've rounded up ten of the world’s most Instagrammable hotel lobbies—including a jaw-dropping five-star accommodation in the heart of Marrakesh, and a boutique stay set in Pablo Escobar’s former Tulum house. Be prepared to double-tap these wanderlust-inducing lobbies.

La Mamounia Marrakech, Morocco

Inside the palatial lobby of La Mamounia, known for its ornate tiled walls and Moorish-inspired decor, you’ll feel more like a member of royalty than like a hotel guest.

Formerly the residence of Pablo Escobar, this artistic hotel has plenty of Instagrammable locations—but none are more deserving of your social media feed than the outdoor entrance filled with suspended sofas.

British designer John Pawson transformed a convent and hospital into a medieval-meets-modern luxury stay.

When you first walk into the lobby of W Koh Samui, you’ll be treated to modern art, patches of green space, and an abundance of open air. But the real treat is just beyond the lobby: an infinity pool overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.
