Folke Ohlsson for Bodafors vintage coffee table

Folke Ohlsson was a prolific Swedish designer who worked with beloved Nordic manufacturers like Fritz Hansen, Bodafors, and Dux and was especially in-demand throughout the 1950s and ’60s. (He’s credited with helping popularize Scandinavian furniture in midcentury America.) This teak-and-oak table produced in 1962 by Bodafors neatly summarizes Ohlsson’s sensibility: timeless, forward-thinking, and simple at once.

Bellhop Portable LED table lamp

As spotted in a scene from the final season of HBO’s Succession, illuminating a marital spat that sent the show’s feverish following up in arms, the Bellhop lamp by British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby looks like a million bucks. Cleverly inspired by uniforms of hotel bellhops, the dimmable LED lamp (designed in 2018 for Flos) adds soft, luxurious lighting to any space, and the portable design lets you bring it from room to room, really making sure you get your money’s worth.

Marco Zanini x Marutomi vintage You Again mirror

In the late 1990s, Japanese manufacturer Marutomi enlisted a group of Italian architects and designers to produce a collection of interior goods and tabletop accessories. Marco Zanini, one of the founding Memphis Group members, designed an artful mirror that delivers function and fashion equally by paying homage to the beautiful luster of traditional Japanese lacquerware with modern phenolic resin that’s painted to soften over time.
