Folke Ohlsson was a prolific Swedish designer who worked with beloved Nordic manufacturers like Fritz Hansen, Bodafors, and Dux and was especially in-demand throughout the 1950s and ’60s. (He’s credited with helping popularize Scandinavian furniture in midcentury America.) This teak-and-oak table produced in 1962 by Bodafors neatly summarizes Ohlsson’s sensibility: timeless, forward-thinking, and simple at once.

Marco Zanini x Marutomi vintage You Again mirror

In the late 1990s, Japanese manufacturer Marutomi enlisted a group of Italian architects and designers to produce a collection of interior goods and tabletop accessories. Marco Zanini, one of the founding Memphis Group members, designed an artful mirror that delivers function and fashion equally by paying homage to the beautiful luster of traditional Japanese lacquerware with modern phenolic resin that’s painted to soften over time.

Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, Fern is known best for its tables, credenzas, and chairs that feature hardwood construction and hand-faceted details. In a delightful twist, the studio just debuted its first lighting, a tabletop lamp made from hand-laced goat parchment shades, a white oak structure, and black-waxed aluminum and white oak bases.
