Root Your Home in Scandinavian Design With a $5,000 Giveaway to Muuto
Muuto comes from the Finnish word "muutos," meaning "new perspective"—and a new season calls for just that. Through their collaborations with some of today’s leading designers, Muuto is dedicated to delivering fresh perspectives on Scandinavian design.
Now, the Danish furniture brand wants to help one lucky Dwell reader rethink their home with a $5,000 "New Perspectives" sweepstakes that is running now until December 1.
Giveaways are all about daydreaming, so here’s a look at some of our favorite Muuto furnishings, lighting, and accessories…you know, just in case you win.
Muuto’s Dots Coat Hooks, designed by Lars Tornøe, take a more colorful approach to the traditional coat hook. Mix and match them on your wall in different colors, patterns, and materials (wood, ceramic, or metal) for playful functionality.
Muuto’s Cover Side Chair (seen here in Cognac Leather/Oak) is aptly named with its curved backrest and folded covers. The frame is made of solid oak, while the form is made of pressed oak veneer. "I aimed for a crisp and vivid expression in the plywood while looking for a solid and grounded look in the frame and base of the design," says designer Thomas Bentzen. Pair it with Muuto’s 70/70 table or let it stand alone.

If you’ve ever wanted to add a cloud to your living space, Muuto’s Strand pendant is about as close as it gets. It offers both direct and soft lighting through its top and bottom openings, and is made of a sprayed cocoon composite over an inner steel structure.
Add a sculptural lightness to your greenery display with Studio Kaksikko’s Ridge Vase. The vase is glazed on the outside, and raw on the inside. It’s available in three earthy tones to complement your flora: off-white, beige, or terracotta.
Welcome a bit of blue sky into your everyday life with Muuto’s Ambit Pendant Lamp in light blue. The lampshade-esque shell, designed by Stockholm-based TAF, is made of spun aluminum and hand-painted; the interior is left white for a warm contrasting glow.
Sweeten your stems with Muuto’s U-shaped Kink Vase in dusty lilac. For an added layer of playfulness, it’s unglazed on the outside and glazed on the inside.
Sink right into Muuto’s Outline Sofa. It’s equal parts deep seating and soft cushioning. "We sought to create a sofa that had an elegant timelessness to it, making for an appearance that was distinctly refined while making little visual noise," says designer Torbjørn Anderssen, who created the three-seater alongside Espen Voll. Round out the seating area with Muuto’s subtle Soft Side Table.
