The Emmy-nominated soap star is parting with this romantic midcentury home, which comes with an outdoor bathtub with views of Griffith Park.

Canadian actor Jason Thompson is parting ways with his Hollywood Hills residence. The Emmy-nominated soap opera star, widely known for his roles in The Young and the Restless and General Hospital, reportedly bought the home in 2006 for $860,000. Now, he’s seeking $1,275,000 for it.

After purchasing the dwelling in 2006, Emmy-nominated actor Jason Thompson meticulously modernized the midcentury home, adding striking updates throughout. One example is the home's pivoting front door.

Originally designed by architect and structural engineer Arthur H. Levin, the 1962 abode packs an impressive amount of midcentury charm in its 1,486-square-foot interior. Fleetwood windows and sliding glass doors create an intimate indoor/outdoor connection, all while framing sweeping canyon views, including the rolling hills around Griffith Park.

Exposed wooden beams cap the living room, which also features banks of oversized windows that open the space to Griffith Park.

Spread across one floor, the compact home offers large, open living areas, as well as two bedrooms, two baths, and a two-car garage. A bonus studio and terrace is also included in the sale. Scroll ahead to see more of the property.

Sliding glass doors connect the living room with an ipe wood deck. The outdoor space overlooks parkland, offering privacy for new owners.

Boasting playfully upholstered bench seating and a retro orange fireplace, the partly covered deck provides an intimate place to gather and entertain.

An open floor plan seamlessly weaves the home's main living areas together. Here, another look at the living room which features an exposed wood ceiling and beams.

The revamped kitchen boasts soapstone countertops, Miele appliances, and a Thermador fridge. A skylight warms the space from above.

Wood beams continue into the master suite, which also features a walk-in closet and its own private deck.

The sheltered deck off the master suite includes a 70-inch soaking tub. Distant views from the bath include downtown Los Angeles and the Griffith Park Observatory.

In addition to a custom walnut vanity, the second bathroom also features a stand-alone shower finished in Italian tile.
