As Ludwig Mies van der Rohe famously said, "A chair is a very difficult object. A skyscraper is almost easier." From the spartan to the extravagant, chairs have distinct personalities of their own—just consider the whimsical shape of the Finn Juhl Pelican Chair or the highly practical Emeco 1006 Navy Chair.
