“The clients went out of their way to sit-test almost every piece of furniture that landed in the final floor plan as they traveled between San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City for work,” says Willemsen. “Their commitment to the project, and willingness to push the bounds of their comfort zone made for a great, long process and a really thoughtful outcome.”

A team of Dutch craftspeople use pressed weeds to create organic compositions that are eventually traced onto the tiles in charcoal. "I'll just stop in the hallway and find myself staring at those tiles," says the homeowner. "There are a couple moments in this house that are definitely art; it just happens to be functional."
