Boudreau covered the walls in unexpected dimensional mustard tile in two different patterns, both from Italian company Marca Corona. The penny rounds on the floor are a “Sliver Sage” color. A custom sconce from DL Design Works hangs above the mirror.
In the shower, the slat wall feeds into a convenient bench.
The coral and sage green color palette is continued here, via wall and floor tile from the Tile Bar. A custom white oak vanity with a quartz counter is completed with a Rejuvenation mirror and wall sconces from Cedar & Moss.
The new slat wall provides a sense of enclosure for the living room, without separating it from the other rooms. An Article sofa is joined by Burke Decor chairs and a coffee table from 1st Dibs. The credenza is by Naan Furniture, based in Valencia, Spain, and also available on Etsy. The wall sconces are custom from Michelle Boudreau Design.
The solid support wall was swapped out for a wood slat wall. Dunn Edwards “Revival Rose,” an update on the terracotta color, was used to define the kitchen from the rest of the home.
The Nook exterior features shiplap cypress siding, a reclaimed oak deck, and an entranceway of oak blackened in the traditional Japanese method.
New custom walnut cabinetry syncs with the rest of the built-ins throughout the home, to create a pleasing rhythm in the open plan. The backsplash is Heath Ceramics tile, and the counter is Pental Quartz. Open shelves at the rear overlook a cozy den, and allow sightlines out the new windows at the front of the home.
The inoperable picture windows were replaced with large sliding glass doors that open to the new seating patio.
An original fireplace with unfinished concrete edges sits sandwiched between open shelves in the main living room. Built-in nooks offer additional storage for books and memorabilia.
Minimalist cabinets complement the agate, stone-effect backsplash in the kitchen.
A deep basin sink sits at the other end of the L-shaped cabinetry.
The kitchen features a Northstar retro refrigerator and a smaller fridge from Big Chill.
A pale polished floor helps to bounce around the light that floods in through the double-height wall of reclaimed windows. Accents of green and wooden pieces add to the nature-inspired feel.

Nine-year-old Herborg’s ensuite bathroom (previously pictured) matches her bedroom, which is painted almost entirely in Cooking Apple Green by Farrow & Ball. The color was selected by Thurmann-Moe to complement the floral wallpaper—Secret Garden by Cole & Son—which was chosen by Herborg herself. “She is so at one with her room, and it’s so obvious that she is in her own space,” says Thurmann-Moe.

The home is clad in red-painted Norwegian pine, echoing the red-flecked trunks of the surrounding spruce forest. “We wanted to reference a traditional red barn in a modern way and pull it forward into our time and give it a complexity,” says color consultant Dagny Thurmann-Moe.
Hardwood floors continue into all of the bright, airy bedrooms.
Each of the home’s three bathrooms were completed remodeled.
Native plants stretch out along the refurbished front porch, which features redwood cladding and tile flooring.

The living room is warmed by a Morsø 1440 cast-iron stove and features a pair of calfskin folding seats that are original to the house.

Inside, original terrazzo floors run throughout the main living/dining area and kitchen. Other features include cedar-clad ceilings, exposed beams, and custom built-in cabinetry.
The Wallmark House by Moritz Kundig is sited on a large, wooded lot about 25 minutes by car to downtown Spokane, Washington. A deck stretches across the rear of the home, which also features full-height windows and a covered outdoor dining area.
Dubbed Cortes, the 1972 Land Yacht is located on Vancouver Island.
Interior designer Markie Miller and her father Lance Price, a woodworker, teamed up to rehab the old trailer.
Heid kept the interiors largely raw, which left Lara, Doug, and their interior designer friend, Elaine O’Dwyer, to fill in the blanks with a mix of modern furnishings and family treasures.
The open-plan kitchen is a particular point of pride for Lara, who designed every detail with a local carpenter, from the textured zellige tile to the spice drawers.
