Architect: The British Ambassador's residence in Washington, D.C. is located at 3100 Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C. in the Embassy Row neighborhood.
It was commissioned in 1925, and designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1928. It is an example of Queen Anne architecture. The embassy was the only building Lutyens designed in North America. Frederick H. Brooke, the on-site American Architect.

The third floor, a massive unfurnished loftlike area, is "white, like the ice on top of the mountain," Wibowo says.
According to Paul Raff, the biggest design challenge was creating a functional home that would accommodate the family's regular activities (dining, music, play, homework) all on one level. This was solved by "collaging spaces of different shapes and sizes together, and by interconnecting them all with a very open and seamlessly integrated kitchen." The airy family kitchen features Loire limestone floors, BassamFellows Tractor stools, and an Eames molded plastic chair.
