Franco Albini was an Italian architect and designer, known for his neo-rationalist design principles. In each of his designs, Albini blended modern furniture design with traditional Italian artisanship. Often using raw, inexpensive materials, Albini proved that elegant design was possible despite the origin of the materials used. Albini worked for a variety of modern companies, including Cassina, Arflex, Arteluce, and Poggi. During his career, Albini earned three Compasso d’Oro awards.
