The home’s front façade features an anodized aluminum and glass curtain wall by Kawneer that's framed by Vic West black corrugated metal panels. The board-formed concrete on the exterior enables passive solar absorption, allowing optimal heat retention on cold winter days. The metal and concrete exterior cladding offers cohesive dialogue with the neighboring industrial sheds and commercial buildings.

A dramatic departure from the Whitney Museum's previous home, a Marcel Breuer building on the Upper East Side, Renzo Piano's recently completed structure in the Meatpacking District opens itself completely to its surroundings.
The shop functions as store and gallery. This vignette features a Terrace coffee table by Toronto designer Lubo Brezina as well as a Gem Collection rug by Bev Hisey, another local designer. Hisey's rug had been on display as part of a recent exhibition before becoming available for purchase.
As in traditional commercial design, a retailer's branding is often the basis for creative ideation. “From the first initiative of the client, to concept development and final design, we aim to stay flexible,” says Dellensen. For As Good As New, a Dutch furniture company that specializes in refurbishing second-hand pieces, i29 installed a retro living room and coated it in matte gray industrial spray-on.

Vipp's prefab Shelter requires a delivery time of six months and costs $585,000. Pricing includes interior fittings, all by Vipp, including bathroom vanity, lighting, leather daybed, kitchen island, dining table (pictured), bedding, storage, and even kitchen utensils.
Heating for the unit is provided by a Spartherm fireplace, with electric heating integrated into the magnesite floor. Walls are insulated with fire-tested wool felt under plywood panels.

The residence is located on Crosby Street, which is part of the landmarked SoHo Cast Iron Historic District. Once a manufacturing and industrial area then an artists' enclave, the neighborhood is now a retail hub. This particular loft used to be a light bulb factory, which informed the renovation's materiality. All of the natural light enters the apartment from the living room windows. 590BC worked with Tamara Eaton Design to furnish the interiors, which holds a mix of refined and rough-hewn pieces. A vintage Harry Bertoia chair holds court with a B&B Italia sofa, shag carpet by Shansom Rugs, steel side table from Global Views, and steel Arco coffee table from Room.
