Designed in the early 1950s by architect Roscoe Hemenway for the inventor of the famous View–Master toy, this ranch house was reimagined by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson for enhanced views, light, and indoor/outdoor connection.

Set on a family cattle farm in a Western Australia coastal town on the Margaret River, Bush House, by Archterra founder Paul O'Reilly, marries a single-plane roof with a prefabricated steel frame support structure. A rammed-earth wall carries through O'Reilly's house into the outdoors, melding with oiled plywood, anodized aluminum, and recycled furniture.
The brick used in construction of the social structure were taken from a deconstructed factory once belonging to the homeowners.
The living space, which enjoys garden views from multiple directions, is furnished with a Tiki Sofa by Fogia, Limited Edition December floor lamp by New Tendency, a pair of Bolo armchairs by Fogia, and a Sentrum side table by Woud.
The home features concrete floors with radiant heating. A custom folded-steel, double-sided fireplace separates the living room from the dining area. The chandelier is from Restoration Hardware, and the coffee table is custom made.
A former warehouse and auto repair shop in Portland was fitted with 11 skylights and a glass atrium in the center, and turned into a chilled-out venue for live music performances.
