A piece of furniture serves as a partition and blocks off an additional cozy sitting area surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows and a door leading out to the terrace.

“Neutra took great pains to site the house with respect to its exposure to not only the sun, but also the moon,” says Joeb Moore. “He wrote that he had designed skylights that brought in both the daytime sunlight and the nighttime moonlight to naturally illuminate the spaces. While some of the original skylights did bring in natural light, others were too small to be effectual. The renovation expanded these skylights, opening up a series of small, button-like apertures into a large slot light above the kitchen island.”
The home was originally built with an enclosed service kitchen, however Joeb Moore's renovation replaced it with an open, modern kitchen that connects to the living area.
The living room features an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, warm wood paneling, and a beautiful tongue-and-groove ceiling.
The exterior is a mix of slim wood siding and white stucco—a “nod to Neutra’s original intention.”
The site features terraces, stone outcroppings, and serene views across the lush green lawn.
The Glen House, as it exists today, is better aligned with Neutra’s original vision for the home.
“Every single part of the Living Vehicle design and engineering is completely new for 2020,” says Matthew. “It has a 100% aluminum structure, frame, and floor—with no wood products part of the structural system. It also has outstanding insulation design, with extensive thermal testing for very hot and very cold travel.” The Living Vehicle is wrapped in anodized, marine-grade aluminum that is highly weather-, water-, and scratch-resistant.

Woodworkers Justin and Kathleen Brady from Bell Buckle, Tennessee, transformed a 1976 GMC Motorhome into a mobile dwelling to be used for weekend getaways and their annual pilgrimage out west. 1456 Sunset Plaza Drive, just a few turns up from Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. The front facade is dominated by a double carport, which Neutra designed with floor-to-ceiling glass along two sides facing the interior.

The home’s entry, anchored by a nursery to the north and an office to the south, leads directly to the main living area.
The sculptural marble kitchen island has an extended wood dining surface that forms a breakfast nook. A simple and dramatic pendant light extends the length of the island and is a focal point within the space.
White mortar walls are finished with a different scraping technique on both sides, adding texture and softness to the construction material. The white walls are the perfect backdrop for the silhouettes of shadows that move across the facade throughout the day.
The pattern in the pergola is a complex pattern of louvers. As the light changes throughout the day, so do the patterns of the shadows cast on the home and ground below.
