Maharam Pillow in Amulet

Maharam Design Studio specializes in the design and development of vibrant textiles for residential and commercial interiors. Balancing an appreciation of history with a focus on aesthetic and industrial innovation, Maharam’s textiles reside in the permanent collections of MoMA, Cooper Hewitt and the Art Institute of Chicago, among others. A Maharam collaborator since 2006, Sonnhild Kestler is a Zürich-based textile designer known for her ability to combine a range of cultural motifs into distinct pattern language that emphasizes dynamic compositions, vibrant colors and ornate graphics. She’s been designing textiles since 1996 under her own label, S.K. Hand-Druck. Amulet (2019) was inspired by a study of military epaulet tapestries dating back to 19th-century Germany, featuring a bold teardrop pattern modernized via simplicity and scale. Made in U.S.A.
