Pia Wüstenberg, a German-Finnish designer based in London, created the Stacked Vessels we featured in the magazine, each made from ceramic, glass, and wood. Another project of hers we love is Processed Paper—a series of pendant lamps, table bases, and other pieces crafted from rolled wastepaper that she turns on a woodworker's lathe to create distinctive, marbleized pieces.

Pia pop-up kitchen by Dizzconcept for Inkea. This little dynamo packs a punch—within just under 71 inches, there’s a sink, a faucet, and a cooktop. Hiding inside the base is a dishwasher, trash bin, a shelf, a drawer, AND a built-in refrigerator. But wait! There’s more! On the top deck, cabinets conceal an integrated hood, LED lighting, more shelving and sockets for appliances. Still not finished—six-inch-deep doors cradle space for dishes, utensils, pretty much everything under the kitchen sink. The whole shebang comes together in under an hour, and there are only three major components. That equals over 50 square feet of saved space. That’s a big deal. Now, how do we get this bad little number distributed in the USA?

Located in the bungalow, the master bedroom was updated. On the CB2 Alpine bed are Anichini linens and a Pia Wallén Crux Blanket; Suttles and her mother made the throw pillows. The headboard was crafted from the house’s original wood. The couple repurposed old fruit crates as bedside tables and hung the Hugo Guinness prints.

Inspired by traditional Swedish folk craft techniques and patterns, Pia Wallén’s pioneering designs also have a strong contemporary edge. This combination of tradition and modernity has remained Pia Wallén’s trademark. A certain playful spirit and the daring, experimental clashing of "noble" and "plebeian" materials are also characteristic of her unmistakable designs.
