Set in a heritage brick building in Montreal, this apartment maintained the brick wall in the kitchen to evoke the building's industrial heritage. The brick was painted white to brighten the space.
Harding went for simplicity in the kitchen, which features white backsplash tiles from Ceramica Vogue, a Ceaserstone countertop in Pure White, a Blanco sink with a Milli Inox fixture, and suface-mounted lights.
The new oak staircase functions as the “backbone” of the home, connecting the more private spaces upstairs with the open-plan living and dining space on the ground floor.
The floors are polished concrete. The architects incorporated locally sourced materials—from the tile to the marble countertops.

"The box was softened with a thin frame of floating concrete floor, along with a very thin roof rack on top, and joined together by diagonal side walls," explains Tal Goldsmith Fish, the firm's founder.
