Demo. Demo Forever: Daniel Kanter’s post on renovating his house is spot-on for anyone stuck in the middle of renovating. Example “One of the side effects of renovating an old house, I’ve found, is the way my brain has come to toggle between the absurd optimism I feel before a project begins and the extreme despair I experience when my ideas about how things will be collide with the reality of how things actually are.” From Manhattan Nest.

With their Colour Glass collection, the duo Scholten & Baijings create a language of colored glass, with gold lines marking wine glasses, and color gradients designating water glasses. Pastels and soft lines show off the subtlety and understatement of glassware, modernizing its elegance without diminishing its place in the kitchen.

“The three products share the structural concept but each have their own story. The oak, a classic Danish choice for wooden furniture, and the custom designed brass joints lend a natural harmony to the series. “Useful Living” mimics scaffolding structures in construction sites. In its flexible design, it mimics the nomadic lifestyle of a young designer, which was once me,” says Lee.

“I spent a great deal of time searching for the perfect cotton cord, and finally settled on two; the first a very natural and malleable and the second more refined with a slight sheen. These choices added an appropriate level of contrast of matte versus satin and provided a little cushioning," says Aitken about her choice of materials.
