Clean lines, exposed structure, warm materials—these are among the elements that define the modern, elegant look of our homes. While the design language is modern, we honor the architectural styles that came before. Sonoma Retreat is our interpretation of vernacular architecture, combining our warm modern approach with a more traditional pitched roofline.
The great room offers a central place of gathering under the calming rhythm of the structure above. Acting as a shaded retreat, with the potential to be completely open on either side to the activities and views of the site, this space also provides privacy by separating the primary and secondary bedroom suites. When additional privacy or protection from the sun are desired, operable wooden screens glide along the façade of the home, adding another dimension to the play of light and view.
