Wan Ping Jia Yuan Community Third Phase

The site locates at the central of Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County in Hainan province.
As the third phase of Wan Ping Jia Yuan residential community, client wants to create a community that differs from the 1st and 2nd phase which were conceived as four towers with a liner podium located on the east of 3rd phase's site.
Our idea is to embrace the existence of the four towers but mixed the residential programs with hotel, lofts and, commercial space. There are two floors for underground parking and supermarket. Along the primary streets, commercial store and urban public programs are proposed to fill the gap between residential community and street life. A sunken plaza with four stories lifted above provide a shade space for pedestrian and buffer zone for supermarket.
The design typology is inspired by the local terrace in Hainan province. A continuous terrace with set-backs generate rich experience on rooftop thus each unit could enjoy unobstructed view from their private roof garden. At the same time, each unit on typical floor is equipped with large balcony and planters to manifest the concept of living within nature and terrace.
