Vision on Wilshire

Steinberg Hart, a leading California-based architecture firm, is pleased to unveil its latest transformative urban mixed-use project: Vision on Wilshire, a luxury residential community sited in one of Los Angeles’ most desirable locations. As the first development of its kind in the mid-city Los Angeles neighborhood, the UDR, Inc-developed property is setting the standard for design-forward urban living while breaking market records that include the swift lease-up of the exceptional three-bedroom penthouses. The 18-story property rises above Wilshire and Crescent Heights Boulevards to introduce 150 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes, world-class amenities, and street-level retail space. Vision on Wilshire’s distinctive design creates the feeling of a neighborhood destination to establish a new luxury living landmark along the in-development Metro Purple Line.

Drawing inspiration from iconic views

Through the planning and design of Vision on Wilshire, the architects positioned the building and shaped the residences to expertly frame unrivaled panoramic views of rolling treetops and the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the San Gabriel mountains, the Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign, Pacific Ocean along Santa Monica’s coastline up to Long Beach, and beyond to the downtown skyline. Due to city zoning regulations that prohibit further high-rise development to the North of the property, the stunning treetop and mountain views are protected from future obstruction.
The distinctive, patterned glass that clads the tower was inspired by an intent to create additional visual interest along the facade, blend with the patterning that clads the above-grade parking levels, as well as to brighten interior spaces through increased daylighting. From the minute that residents and their guests step off the elevator, the experience of “coming home” is further enhanced by the welcome of natural light-filled corridors that are anchored by expansive glazing on either end.

Amenities designed for entertaining and a modern live/work/play lifestyle

Similar to the sophisticated modern design of the natural light-filled homes, the podium-level clubhouse, rooftop lounge, fitness center, conference rooms, and exclusive penthouse-level meeting rooms & lounges are designed to put breathtaking views on display.

Serving as a refuge from the city, the designers created climate variety in the range of outdoor amenities to augment the community’s interior lounging and co-working environments. A private sky deck tops Vision on Wilshire, featuring a sky lounge, multiple outdoor lounge areas, and a 60-foot pool. The south-facing Vision on Wilshire rooftop was positioned to maximize its usability. The sky deck level serves as a sundrenched pool destination during the day and transitions into an extension of residents’ home entertainment spaces at night. At the podium level along the northern façade, an outdoor terrace seamlessly extends from the interior lounge and meeting rooms. This expansive communal entertaining space houses a range of dining and lounging spaces that are interwoven throughout landscaping and are protected from the sun by shade to form the podium-level terrace.

Creating connections to the neighborhood and city beyond

With LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) in the building’s backyard, Vision on Wilshire residents have convenient access to some of Los Angeles’ top cultural, entertaining, and retail attractions that also include The Grove and the West Third Street District. The residential community is also located within one city block of the future Metro Wilshire/La Brea Purple Line station, one of the region’s most anticipated public transportation projects that will provide riders with direct access from downtown Los Angeles to Beverly Hills and Westwood.

Mindful of the surrounding neighborhood, the shape of the building on the northern edge, steps down into the neighborhood with the podium-level terrace transitioning to the publicly accessible pocket park on Crescent Heights Boulevard to welcome the community and gracefully blend into the scale of the surrounding single-family residences. The architects also pulled back the entrance away from street-side corner, drawing the lobby into the neighborhood and maximizing public retail space along the prime Wilshire corridor.
