From Alan Tse

borrowing the concept of light wells, we integrated a continuous stairway that threads through this 3-story single family home animated by sunlight from an 11ft. long retractable glass roof system. The animated light and shadows create various spatial conditions of the house, a set of sequential experiences that starts at the arrival. The material palette is kept simple in order for the colors of the Corona Heights beyond to bleed into the interior of the house. The result is an approachable, clean line design that proves to be timeless.
