The renovation of a family’s shared work and study space.
With full height glazing looking out onto a roof terrace, the room was washed in a soft green tone to heighten the link between the indoor and out.
Since the space has an almost full double height ceiling, and the client's brief requested ample storage, an inhabitable plane was created on an oversized table top at the opposite end of the room to the glazing, to allow for easy and convenient access to tall storage.
The small stairs that lead up to this plane conceal cupboards and end in a slender daybed which catches the morning sun year-round.
Power outlets were built into the table plane on both sides to allow for ease of access, including in a small cove beneath the tallest storage unit where devices can be tucked away once work has been complete.
Open shelving on the right hand side creates a moment of visual interest and allow for the display of precious photos and treasured family artifacts.
A central rug softens the floor plane and neatly ties together the colours of the space and its surrounds.
