Our scope of work was essentially to re-contextualize the second level of our client's home.
Structurally we built-out our client's small walk-in closet over the garage in one direction and connected it to the Master Bathroom in the other. On the other end of the second level we sacrificed an underutilized third guest bedroom by opening up the space and creating a faux Family Room/tertiary guest sleeping space equipped with a Murphy bed.

Being that the clients had a strong Italian heritage they wanted us to create a "Tuscan" aesthetic throughout the second level while at the same time being low maintenance and user friendly as they were about to retire. Our launching point for the Tuscan vibe was river recovered cypress wood which we used as flooring throughout the space and as the ceiling finish in the master bathroom. Since we knew our clients wouldn't be down with re-sealing natural marble every few years we decided to go with an engineered quartz for the vanity tops and as a shower surround. For the closet system and the bathroom vanities we chose a plum colored matte finish on maple contrasted with a creamy vanilla interior. We also worked with Bisazza Mosaico to create a gold leaf feature wall behind the soaking tub in the Master Bath.
