Tracks to Water

Situated in Vancouver’s dynamic waterfront community overlooking Burrard Inlet and the North Shore mountains sits a top-to-bottom renovated home. The exterior showcases a metal roof juxtaposing cedar siding and stone chimney. Some of the cedar was stained to match the front steps giving the home its warmth. The modern lines of the flat-top portico and black metal clad windows play against the traditional style of the facade. Stone pavers line the walkway and a seating nook that has plenty of privacy from the street due to the fence and lush gardens. The back of the home takes on more of the modern lines, but is still softened by the stained cedar and wood patio, complete with hot tub and privacy fence with awning. The interior walls were removed to create an open floor plan and oversized windows and glass doors were installed to open the kitchen to the outside. The home is covered in Chinook Oak stained smoke. The living room and kitchen millwork is done in Rift-cut Oak stained dark and runs throughout most of the home. In contrast, an all white island brings in brightness. Metallic glass mosaic tiles run the length of the countertops and tuck nicely under the upper cabinets. A wall of floor to ceiling cabinets house the wine fridge and wall ovens. The bathrooms were also finished in a transitional style using ledgestone behind the vanities for added interest.

An added advantage to this home is the rooftop deck that further connects the home to the outside. Access is up a set of stairs on the main floor and out through a skylight that opens like a traditional attic. A full service deck with dining area, lounge area with firepit and bar overlooks the stunning water views from three different angles.
