The Trailhead

Let's set sail on our next adventure… maybe we should back up a few years and explain.

Back in 2017 my husband and I decided to sell our 100yr old farm house that we had been remodeling for ten years and buy 40 acres a valley over. Instead of a long painful DIY remodel we were going to start a green field project and have this one built for us. Little did we know that we would end up in Salt Lake City for almost 6 months as our unborn son decided he wanted to come into this world several months early, side note, he is a healthy 6yr old boy now! With this six month delay and life delays, we found ourselves in our friends rental home almost two years from the time we purchased the property needing to decide what to do with it. In normal markets, this would have been fine but we were in Bozeman, MT and at the time this market was on fire and the price of building sky rocketed. With the major price increase we had to come to terms with our vacant lot. Would we pair down our dreams and have a builder build it for us or would we once again take on building it ourselves. We chose to build it, or most of it, ourselves. We are now in year five of the build and have completed our final punch list. It is a beautiful home in a breath taking environment, close to hiking and mountain biking trailheads, world class skiing and trout fishing.

We have loved living in Montana as it has fed our adventurous spirit for the last twenty years, but now that we are complete with the house we are ready to take on a new world adventure! Our newly constructed dream house is now on the market so we can circumnavigate the world via a live aboard catamaran sail boat!
