From Paulien van Noort

We at GetAway Projects designed and built another cabin that we rent out since April 2021. We call it The Pool House. The cabin has a walled green garden full of bamboo and rododendron surrounded by beautiful large trees. The cabin is 20 meters long and 3,5 meters wide (and is 80m2 in total) with an enormous glass facade opening to the garden (4,5 meters high). The walls inside and out are made of ‘misfires’; bricks that have transformed into unusual shapes during the baking process. Inside, the cabin is a loft with a heightened lounge with hanging Bordelet woodburner, a kitchen with bar and a 2 person bedroom with bathroom (all open to the garden:-). In the middle of the cabin we have created a mezzanine with a large bed for 3. The cabin is finished with Frake Noir, a thermally modified wood type with a beautiful dark brown shade. Parallel to the cabin is an unheated natural swimming pool with a swim track of 13 meters and a helophyte filter for purifying the water. If you dare you can swim year round! The swimming pool warms up quickly when the weather is warm because of the huge amount of lava stones in the filter.

The cabin is situated in the east of the Netherlands at the edge of Gorssel, a small village surrounded by forest near the hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen.
