The Koro Nest

A story book like cozy mountain home, perched up on a valley, we wanted to bring that to life. We perceive architecture as art, which deals with human emotional experience like excitement, joy, adventure. We aim at creating spaces that translate into an experience. We are most proud of the emotion this holiday home evokes. A home that evokes a sense of newness and possibilities. Design inspired by nature, the curves of Fibonacci, arcs of the twigs in the nest all led to shaping up the concept.
We approached the home’s interiors like a work of art, fusing organic and natural elements like curving the corners and using sustainable materials such as bamboo for the ceiling and use of jute & cane for lighting. Natural elements such as stone walls which are made to support the structure to be kept exposed in the rooms. Incorporating a large part of the mountain in the sub level as a design element. To include the adjacent pine trees in the space balconies were extended with mild steel beams to create decks. An inside-out harmony. What we strive to create was a place with warmth, personality and heart.
