The Koch ADU

This is a custom designed Accessory Dwelling Unit. It was designed and built by us, Maltas Construction LLC. We offer in home design/build to clients. This is a 320 sq. ft. building, with a loft above the bathroom to house a queen sized bed. There is a mini kitchen incorporated into the design. There is a full bath with a walk-in shower. The structure is an open beam construction with exposed rafters and ceiling decking. Wood window jambs and casings. The Bathroom exterior walls facing into the great room area used cabinet grade maple plywood as a covering. The rest of the interior is sheet rock with a light Vancian texture finish. The exterior of the building uses Nichiha cement siding, which offers great thermal and fire protection. Metal standing seam roofing. The deck boards are Brazilian Ipe hardwood. The handrail of the deck is metal post and stainless steel cables. The main entry is a 10 foot wide, 3 panel glass wall that opens to the deck.
