The Duality Collection

Duality Chair The chair is made from a raw steel base with light patina topped with royal blue colored upholstered seat with scalloped edges and a backrest made of circular elements from green lacquered wood.

Duality Side Table The Duality side table is made of steel sheet with traces of light surface patina with shiny lacquered finish. The table has a strong industrial appeal that is soften with detailing of scalloped edges both at the top and bottom.

Duality Stool The Duality stool is a monochromatic three-legged stool upholstered in royal blue colored soft textile, with scalloped edges detailing along the legs.

Duality Bench The bench is hand-crafted from natural pine wood with lacquered finish in a striking royal blue color with an accent ‘’T’’ leg in acid green color. The metal cover is made from a raw sheet steel with laser- cut scalloped edges as a contrasting element to the contemporary appeal of the bench.

Duality Mirror The Duality mirror is a round mirror with a sandblasted frame scalloped edges, the frame can optionally highlighted with back illumination.

Duality Sketch The creation of the chair as the first design of the entire collection began as a digital sketches drawn on an iPhone in a moment of relaxation surrounded by greenery on a terrace of a mountain house. After the initial sketches of the chair, the rest of the designs were developed, which are complementary to each other in a collection of five pieces.

Macedonian architect and designer Maria Hadji Pecova has designed her first collection of sculptural furniture
called the Duality Collection.
The collection is inspired by the instance of dualism that means opposition between two concepts as a contrast
between two colors, two materials and two emotions.
This collection represents juxtaposition between functional design and sculptural expression and it’s created to
show that everyday objects can be a pieces of art.
The amalgamation of colors chosen for this collection are the primary and dominant royal blue which symbolizes
power, calmness and elegance, and the secondary green which symbolizes harmony and peace.
The design language that repeats itself all over the collection, is the use of vibrant colors, raw materials, geometric
forms and accent scalloped edges.
The Duality collection is a limited edition in a family of five design pieces, a chair, a bench, side table, stool and a mirror.
