The renovation at the Doyle residence was the smallest footpring the architect has ever completed. In less than 100 sqft the architect had to resolve a full kitchen and replace a stair connecting 3 levels.
In the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington DC, the owner wanted to remove the existing spiral stair connecting the 2 upper levels, and adding the floor to the basement suite. The existing dead end corridor where the kitchen lived also had to go.
With this in mind, the architect created a 3 level open stair and an freestanding peninsula style kitchen.
