This project was created by Yaroslav and Elena Aldoshins, the designers, for their own apartment in Krasnodar. The interior was designed for two people who have an active lifestyle, are in continuous creative search, love travelling and receiving guests. Most of the time the designers spend at home working under their projects.
The main task is to create innovative, aesthetic, original space, which inspires the designers’ creativity. Bright adventurous colors and textured combinations were chosen as a basis.

Initially, the designers were looking for the housing with non-standard original layout and they chose the apartment of 110 m2 with a mezzanine - the "second level" and a terrace, located on the top floor of the house.

The layout was initially successful and underwent minimal changes, such as relocation of the doorways and minor adjustments to the walls.

The main advantage of the original layout was the kitchen-living room with a high sloped ceiling, it is five meters high at the highest point of the room. There is an exit to the terrace overlooking the city from this place as well.

The windows of the rooms and the terrace face the west side allowing to watch beautiful sunsets almost every day.

We placed a wood-burning fireplace with all the necessary communications in the living room, following all the rules of the installation, it became possible due to the fact that the apartment is located on the top floor of the building.

A special area of the apartment is the mezzanine – it is a bright space with many windows and a good view of the city. There is also a bedroom in the apartment with an area of 20 m2 and a tiny bathroom of 5 m2, but it has the high ceiling of 4 meters.

Loft style was chosen as the main one of the space, because the apartment initially seems to be a non-residential technical place where living areas are being created.

The space under the stairs was transformed into a large storage system where clothes, a washing and drying machine, a pantry, and a robot vacuum cleaner are kept. The kitchen furniture design was completely done by us, it consists of high cupboards on one side and a long working area without upper cabinets, only a hood cabinet is designed above the stove.

We assembled the rest area in the living room around an antique French fireplace brought from Holland. One of the important project decisions was the installation of the entire glass wall between the living room and the terrace, it extended visually the living room space to the open space terrace and, on the contrary, let the greening of the terrace in into the living room space.

In some places, we left the rough brickwork, having painted it with matte paint. The bedroom with a total area of 20 square meters has a sloped ceiling, as well as the kitchen-living room does, there we placed everything we need: a bed, two wardrobes, a dressing table.

On the second floor there is a study with all the necessary things a designer needs, also there is a large dressing room there.

We installed a freestanding bath in the bathroom, and a special design of the curtain hangers was done to take the shower comfortably. We used wallpaper above the ceramic tiles around the perimeter of the bathroom, which we covered with a matte varnish further, it did not change the color of the wallpaper, but protects from water drops and steam impact.

It was really important for us to fill the interior with art objects, for this the works of Sergey Yashin, the artist, were chosen, which are very close to us in the spirit.

We chose a deep blue shade as the main one for the apartment, both the walls and the ceiling were painted in it. The palette was not chosen by chance, shades of dusty pink and salmon color come to the fore, and deep blue color covers the spaces behind and above them, which seems to dissolve the picture, immersing the walls around them in the shadows and visually blurring the boundaries of the spaces, especially in the evening time. The interior of the bedroom and the study is based on the same color effect.
