The 3 storey single family retreat home is located in Savar, approximately thirty kilometre north of Dhaka, capital city of Bangladesh. The west façade looks upon a vast expanse of military farmland with a prominently standing Chatim (Alstonia Scholaris) tree meeting the eyes of the onlooker and the yawning verandas and large trees are providing a shade from the idle afternoon sun, also creating a sparkling interplay of dim, darkness and penumbra.
The residence is a combination of exposed concrete and brick with no plaster paint in an attempt to be bare to create the breathing quality of the concrete.
The landscape seems to be alive with colors with its dramatic ever-changing hues and fragrance. Some forest zones are situated on two sides of the terrace that opens onto a green lawn with a sitting place is from where the evening sunset can be celebrated.
It indeed is a luxury to indulge in the setup of nature from the picturesque frames of the residence.
