Nestled in the Enseada do Albatroz (Albatross Cove), in the city of Armação dos Búzios, a municipality within the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Designed by architect Guido Campanate and overlooking the Praia da Ferradurinha (Little Horseshoe beach), one of the twenty-six beaches in the city.
This project combines a mix of sustainable materials; concrete, lumber, recycled wood, metal structure and reclaimed building bricks. Built on a 19.611 sq ft lot, the house has 6.243 sq ft . It features six suites.
A couple of unique features are rarely found in any other house in the surrounding area. The ceiling coating is made from a mixture of handpicked bamboo (sourced from a farm in a small city in the state of Minas Gerais) and calcium oxide. The designs on floors are also designed by architect Guido Campanate. During construction, homeowners Paulo and Maria were struck with the passing of their son, and so finishing this house became a way to pay homage to their late son.
Heart and soul were poured into this project, utilizing a mix of sustainable elements, coupled with handmade flooring and ceiling, truly makes this house one of a kind.
