The client wanted state-of-the-art, high performance, easy to use technology to enhance their home. Crestron custom was the only solution that could handle a project of this size. The home borders on commercial building techniques due to the sheer size and scope. With that said, only products that can control a location like the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum would be robust enough to handle the project. With the combination of the Pro4 processor for the main system and the CP4. for lighting, along with TSW-1070 touch panels, this created an extremely responsive and elegant solution that controls 402 lighting loads, 91 keypads, 41 zones of music, 24 motorized shades, 16zones of distributed video, 16 touch panels, 11 zones of HVAC, 6patio heaters, 2 pools, and a list of other subsystems, including a 500K home theater with an iPad running the Crestron app. Overall, the system exceeded the client's expectations! It is intuitive, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing. The home has three very elaborate scenes, with the "entertain" scene being the most sophisticated. By touching one button, the home goes into the ultimate show-off mode. Lighting, music, temperature, fire features, water features, screensavers, and shades are choreographed to highlight and showcase the home. In addition to special events, the home has a daily routine of turning on certain lights and opening shades in the morning, as well as putting the home in a goodnight mode at 11 p.m. The biggest benefit to the client is being able to manage the home easily from any touch panel or their iPad. The ability to see the surveillance cameras on the touch panel is another feature that brings peace of mind in response to unknown noises. The video distribution makes it convenient to watch each person's Apple TV anywhere in the home, and the ability to easily stream one's music to any zone. The bottom line is that big homes can be complicated and inefficient, but with the Crestron Home Automation system, the home becomes very user-friendly and convenient.
