As you enter the home through the main door, the first thing that catches your eye is the spacious natural lit Foyer. The apartment has been designed with a strong emphasis on personal space - whether it is bedrooms, wardrobes, kitchens - all spaces have an optimal balance of design and function.

You are greeted by the client's artwork adorning the foyer walls which was designed as the art gallery. This foyer acts as the meeting point of the private and social areas of the house. The Gallery extends into the Pooja room.

The social area begins with a walk towards the right from the foyer - a corridor that we call the “walk of fame” is a broad corridor leading to the living room - the primary guest entertainment area in the home. The living room is a large space of 1,450 square feet. There are four distinct focal points in the living room - The Formal Living, The Grand Piano Alcove, The Dining and the Bar. One of the client's large artwork takes the center stage in the transition point between the living and dining space.

As you leave the living room, you see the powder bathroom on the right - done in backlit marble with very subtle light. At the end of the corridor, towards the left, is the kitchen. The kitchen has been designed keeping functionality as the most important feature. There is a separate washing area in the kitchen, and a separate service area - this service area leads to the living room through a door that is concealed in the slatted wooden panelling behind the bar.

To the right, at the end of the corridor, is the guest bedroom. This room is different from the rest of the bedrooms - with a botanical theme in the colour scheme, wall finishes, furniture and decor. You are now back at the foyer, where you started your journey into the social space of the house.

The family’s personal space starts with the family room - a large space where the family (the couple and their 6 year old son) spends a lot of its evening time together. The idea was to make this a fun place for the family to spend time, and even use this space as an informal entertainment area. The black and white houndstooth carpet in the family room complement the bold colours of the other elements.

Walking through the family room along the corridor you can see the natural light from the terrace permeating throughout the personal spaces. On the left, after the family room is the other guest bedroom. This bedroom has a separate study area - the bedroom is done in soft neutral colours, highlighted by the rich natural-finish wooden panelling, subtly accentuated with mirror finished gold detailing.

Across the corridor, when you leave the bedroom, is a pantry area. The pantry was designed to cater to the family’s late night cravings. The corridor now leads to the family reading lounge and their bedrooms.

The reading lounge is a private space where the family unwinds before retiring to their respective bedrooms. Two bookshelves hold some of the family’s favourite books along with the board games that they love playing together. One of the walls is adorned by a collage of the family’s travel memories.

The two bedrooms face each other, separated by the reading lounge. On the right is the son’s bedroom. The one thing he wanted in his room was a map of the world - he loves to travel. The opposite wall has been done in a grey felt pinboard panel - allowing him to put up his own artwork and posters. The furniture in the room has been designed to lend a pop of colour, as well as keep it functional for the son’s online classes and other activities.

Facing the son’s bedroom is the master bedroom. The masterbed is crowned by a grand headboard with plush fabric panelling accented with brushed gold strips. A fluted grey wall acts as the background for the television cabinet, and yet lends its own character to the entire room. A balance of neutral colours and rich natural-finish wooden panelling on the walls and ceiling gives the room a distinct look of nuanced luxury.

The bedroom leads into the walk-in wardrobe - a truly spacious room meant to give the couple adequate room for their wardrobes and dressing area. From here, you enter the master bathroom done in a combination of elegant Statuario marble complemented with black and gold vanities. This bathroom is characterised by the distinct his and her section, and the mirror finished gold strips highlighting the white walls.
