The ADU was located far enough away from the roots of the live oak tree so as not to harm it, and the deck was constructed around the same tree

From Ash Notaney

During the early days of the pandemic, we purchased a humble 770sf log cabin on a 1/4 acre creekside lot, with an eye to building an ADU to increase the living space. After exploring different options, we decided to build an A-frame with a prefab structural system. We customized the floorplan to balance the space allocated to bedrooms vs. open, high ceilings, and take advantage of creek views. We carefully picked out finishes and furniture to reflect our style and we are very proud of the result. We also re-landscaped the property, adding a container pool and bocce court to create our own little relaxing oasis.
