Sir John Richardson's Art-Filled Estate
“He had such a brilliant eye for interiors and mixing serious and playful things,” Shelley Wanger, an executor of the estate (with Jeffrey Coploff, Mr. Richardson’s lawyer) and his longtime friend and editor told the New York Times, adding that the home’s aesthetic was largely “inspired by an English country house.”
According to the New York Times, Richardson's "varied career included work as an industrial designer, book reviewer, managing director of an art investment fund and art curator, though he is best known for his books on Picasso, his close friend. In 2012, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, following in the footsteps of his father, who was knighted by the queen’s great-grandfather, King Edward VII."

After being extensively featured in design magazines and books, Sir John Richardson's incredible full-floor Manhattan loft is now for sale. Baronial proportions and extraordinary light are two of the hallmarks of the Richardson loft, where some of the most famous artists, writers, and society figures of the late 20th and early 21st century lived, laughed and loved.
30 oversized windows, four exposures, soaring ceiling heights, and sprawling rooms, present an incredible opportunity to create a spectacular home with four, five or even six bedrooms.
The icing on the cake is a low maintenance of $4,571.
