From LBWA
Currently, Wilda is one of Poznan’s fastest developing historic neighborhoods. Townhomes are under renovation and the small amount of lots that are empty are quickly being filled with new developments. Here, architectural studio LBWA designed a newly developed apartment, located in the center of Wilda.
Investors planned to create an apartment designated for long term rental. These types of apartments must stand out from others on the housing market. They need to be functional, and use materials that are durable and timeless. The architects chose to create a simple, natural, full-of-light, harmonious interior.
The contractor was consulted in the early stages of development which allowed individual changes, such as wall placement, electrical installation, and ceilings’s with an unfinished look.
Gray with shades of green built-ins are filling the main hallway, hiding spacious closets and the entry to the bedroom.
Parquet wood floors in the living room and bedroom are built from square oak panels. The rest of the apartment’s floors are finished with terrazzo tiles.
The open floor kitchen was divided into two segments: One is tall and blended with shades of the walls, and the other is shorter, filled with oak finish cabinets. Natural stone was used to build a counter and a backsplash. The whole kitchen interior is completed by a suspended and simple oak cabinet with fluted glass sliding doors.
The unfinished ceilings allowed for unique design without additional budget. They are paired with the warmth of the soft white shade of the walls braking it’s raw impression.
The entire apartment’s look was softened by long and light drapes as well as custom designed oak furniture.
The bathroom was styled using light colors. It’s walls were finished with delicate square motif tiles. A white sink was installed over metal construction and painted black. A bright and spacious effect was created by adding a large mirror. A deep closet with doors matching wall colors is meant to hide a washing machine.
