Seaside apartment, Tel aviv, Israel, 2018
This apartment was bought by an overseas client for vacation use. The program requested a luxurious atmosphere providing an unobstructed panorama towards the Mediterranean Sea. The idea was to create a huge pampering “hotel suite” or a “mega yacht” suite. All the divisions were torn down opening up the space. The Windows were changed to minimal openings with climate control shutters and Low-E glass. The ceiling was completely redone to create a flat panoramic effect. A round wall was introduced to divide the master bedroom with the main space and enhance the movement in the apartment.
The materials chosen were all from the view around: sand, sky, water and urban panorama. The sand color was used for the stone floor, wood and textiles, metal sheets, brass and stainless steel were chosen for reflections and highlights, blue and purple were put in for styling. It was of great importance that the design would not undermine the view around and still create the right balance between cold and warm materials.
Due to its size, rhythm was introduced in design elements creating correct scale for the warm feeling needed.
