On a six-acre secluded site overlooking Stage Harbor in Chatham, this Shingle Style home is master planned as a campus of related structures designed to create a summer haven for a young family and their friends. The primary living spaces are intentionally oriented towards the water, framing vistas of Morris Island and the landmark light house. Ample fenestration and clear glass railings increase natural light throughout and maximize views from the interior to the oceanfront. The open-concept interior program allows for an effortless transition to the outdoors, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living and entertaining experience. A refined, sophisticated interior aesthetic exudes a tranquil, coastal ambiance and includes natural materials such as weathered wood, rattan, jute, and an earth tone palette. On the upper level, an unexpected helix spiral stair leads to a cupola, revealing a private roof deck with a jacuzzi and bar. Complex ecological remediation and resilient design strategies were employed to ensure the longevity of this waterfront home.
