From Elias Braun Architecture

In the serene Sonoran Desert, a remarkable residence came to life, born from the aspirations of a Sonoran couple yearning for a retreat. After a nomadic lifestyle filled with frequent moves and raising a bustling family, they embarked on the journey of building a place that could serve as both a cozy home for themselves and a welcoming gathering space for their now-adult children. Elias Braun Architecture was entrusted with the task of bringing their dream to fruition, seamlessly blending their abode with the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The land's challenging topography, characterized by steep slopes both in the backyard and along the front facade, presented formidable hurdles. However, the design ingeniously integrated these slopes while ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and environmental responsibility. Architecturally, the structure was crafted to frame the breathtaking views through expansive windows and strategically placed cantilevers, creating panoramic vistas from within.

Inside, the residence strikes a harmonious balance between privacy and entertainment. A central hall serves as the heart of the house, leading to an infinity pool and jacuzzi that offer awe-inspiring views of the adjacent natural reserve. The recreational amenities extend to a heated pool, a generously proportioned covered terrace, a poolside bar, and an inviting fire pit area.

The guest house, seamlessly integrated into the complex, provides comfortable accommodation for visiting family members while preserving their privacy.

Materials were thoughtfully selected to harmonize with the environment. Travertine and wood convey warmth, while steel and shades of gray evoke the stone that cradles the residence. Expert landscaping featuring native vegetation, natural elements like stones and gravel, and a meticulously designed lighting scheme accentuate the architectural simplicity of the project, resulting in a sophisticated, elegant, and distinctive masterpiece that encapsulates the cherished dreams of the clients.
