From Isolina Mallon Interiors LLC

Working with a modern architectural envelope we designed and directed the extensive remodel of this beautiful single family home in the quiet and green Portola Valley.

The house was upgraded to accommodate a family of four and take advantage of the spectacular sweeping views and beautiful architecture.
Our involvement with the project included managing the remodeling and architectural detailing, the interior design and the custom-made furnishing.

The general floors were changed to wide plank oak wood finished in place with a modern light varnish creating a contrast with the redwood slopped ceilings.
The kitchen and den are now part of one big common space, yet separated visually by the Italian Mutina tile on the floor.

The custom-made kitchen cabinets get the most out of the space without distracting of the view.

The walls surrounding the staircase to the basement were upgraded with a clear glass railing that plays a big part on the space opening. To protect the privacy of the office/lab space on the basement, we installed smart glass on the staircase windows, this way we allow to switch between clear and matte glass when needed.

The master bathroom features a solid walnut bathtub, homeowners main request, and big format Laminam tiles that cover floors and walls seamlessly.

The garage was tiled with 3'x 10' white Laminam tiles, the black closet doors are custom made with carbon fiber, the homeowner loves cars and wanted this room to feel special.

All the elements were designed and tailored to fit the family needs.
