This custom-built pop-up roof camper, designed specifically for a Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck, transforms the vehicle into a fully functional and compact living space. The project features a steel structure, douglas fir cladding for both the interior and exterior, and a range of handcrafted elements, including fixed and operable furniture for optimal space usage. The camper features a unique zinc-plated countertop with a copper faucet, while timber and copper are used for the doors and windows

The copper-clad roof itself is a standout feature that lifts with the help of electrical struts, offering extra headroom and the ability to stand up comfortably. It is enclosed with a light-colored canvas, with openings for ventilation and natural light. A stainless steel roof rack completes the exterior, ensuring additional storage space and the possibility to attach a solar panel. This camper offers a unique self-contained living experience while combining functionality, simplicity and a direct connection to raw materials.

About endless workshop

Based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, we are a collective of designers and makers united by a deep passion for learning and experiencing through the act of making. Coming from diverse backgrounds, we aim to create objects and spaces that generate connections with materials, while emphasizing simplicity, thoughtful design and functionality.

Since its creation in 2018, the collective has included the participation of Alan Berger, Billy Babino, Jérémy Schmid, Mike Perrot, and Vlado Strika. It is currently led by Antoine Schemyte, Joël Schmid, and Silouane Fellrath. With expertise rooted in both architectural and craftsmanship disciplines, we approach each project holistically, seamlessly integrating design and production through continuous dialogue and interactions.

Our capabilities span a wide range of techniques, including woodworking, metalworking, textile crafting, metal casting, 3-axis CNC milling, 3D printing, and parametric modeling. We are also proficient in architectural CAD drafting and off-grid 12v electrical installations. Operating within a shared work space, we embrace the potential for limitless creative exploration.
