The clients had originally sought to do a very significant renovation and vertical addition to their charming but compact marina style home in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. After securing permits and engaging contractors, the bids came back well above their budget, an unfortunately common occurrence in San Francisco where everything comes at a premium.
Seeking to shift gears and reevaluate their needs and priorities, we were hired to work with their footprint and make the most of the space that they have. It was quite a puzzle to fit in an all new kitchen, renovate one bath and add another. All while ensuring that the flow of the home was improved, natural light added and a seamless connection to their rear yard deck which would soon have a new lap pool.
Along with converting some of the space at the garage level, we were able to modernize this home and efficiently meet their goals all without much compromise and at a signicant savings from their first design.
