MRO shelter is located in Oceanic Coast of Uruguay, located 800 meters from the coast in constant concoct with the beach. The surroundings are full of autochthonous vegetation, and only 100km separated from the city of Montevideo.
The clients demand was to build a shelter for the weekend, a place where she could rest from the speed and noise of the city and also connect with nature and herself.

The main strategy starts with the idea of a compact house, composed of 8 square meters modules that articulate interior spaces and extend them to the exterior, achieving breadth and connection with the garden.

The house is displayed as a closed block, mainly introvert, and also opens itself through mobile panels with simple movements, giving the house privacy and security, controlling the different points of view through the exterior, and protecting itself through the interior.
The 32 square meters are squeezed to the maximum to incorporate all the main necessities of the contemporary life, a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room, all compacted in that area. This 32 square meters are the minimum buildable according to the local regulations. This was a starting point for the project, dividing the house un 8 square meters modules that contains a specific program and constantly interact with the other 3 modules conforming the whole shelter.

This strategy demands thinking about the minimum detail to incorporate all the comfort that the contemporary life has.

This blind block is geometrically simple, a closed cube that stands harmonically with the surroundings, taking advantage from the characteristics of the terrain.
