Movie-Star Hideaway
Owners Dr. Paul Di Leo & Kurt Kosek

Paul Di Leo and his husband Kurt Kosek are new full-time Palm Springs residents. Paul — aka American R & B Singer and recording artist Pauly D — is a true Renaissance man. An accomplished musician and visual artist, Paul’s paintings are frequently displayed at several art galleries in the Coachella Valley. The R&B/neo-soul singer/songwriter performed throughout the United States and Europe for decades before settling in California and splitting his time between the Bay Area and the Desert. Drawn to the world-class hiking trails, vintage automobiles and culinary delights of Northern California, Paul is equally at home amidst the poolside culture of the eternally hip Palm Springs crowd.

Kurt Kosek is an explorer and Certified California Naturalist. Kurt’s love of nature and gourmet cooking make Paul and Kurt a fun couple who hosts many dinner parties for folks in the music industry and naturalist community. Together they bring their Midcentury home to Dwell Magazine.

Dr. Williams, a Southern California Physician from Long Beach built this mid-century home for his family through Avalon Construction Company in 1955. This 1,604 square foot 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is one-of-a-kind custom construction consisting of thick walls and a solid foundation that never creaks during extreme desert weather. The property and grounds have been completely transformed by the new owners using sustainable materials and desert landscaping while restoring some of its original vintage charm. This smart home features many creature comforts to bring this residence into the 21st century including a Gourmet Bespoke Kitchen, Outdoor Shower and Fire Pit, Tesla Charging Station and Solar Power. Voilà! The Movie-Star Hideaway was born!

Nestled within walking distance of downtown Palm Springs in the coveted Sunrise Park neighborhood, this vibrant, modern mid-century home sparkles from an era of great Hollywood stars. With its classic angles and high ceilings through its well-appointed sleeping quarters, you’ll find exceptional style and quality only a celebrity would expect after weeks of filming for their private getaway. A wall of windows looks out beyond colorful chaise lounges and elegant patio furniture to the magnificent, secluded, sparkling oversized salt-water warm swimming pool and spa with its multi-colored pool lights, modern decking, and abundant fruit trees.

Enjoy the quiet neighborhood where the “Rat Pack” used to roam with neighboring homes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, the Conrad Hilton, and Cody Estates. Ambient desert landscaping is illuminated at night with elegant uplighting on its many palm and palo verde trees. And in the morning listen to the sweet singing of exotic birds nestling in orange, purple, and fuchsia bougainvillea and the many floral bushes that pop in the sun to greet the day before a morning swim at the foot of the mountains with its spectacular views.

This Movie-Star Hideaway has all the character and style one would expect to find in the Hollywood Hills, only here in Palm Springs. All bedrooms have closets and baths between them for added privacy. This couple’s guests love to slip into the luxury sheets at night and dream of accepting that Academy Award. The unforgettable poolside master retreat has a California King bed and private marble bath, while the guest bedrooms have Canopy Queen and platform beds and an adorable pristine pink and gray Jack and Jill shared bath. This iconic mid-century home is ready for its next close-up.

A truly one-of-a-kind sun-filled secluded home in the heart of Central Palm Springs is waiting for their guests’ relaxation and enjoyment. Area amenities include the Airport, Tram, Casino, Casual and Fine Dining, Theatres, Art Galleries, and the best shopping around just minutes from downtown.

It’s simply the perfect hideaway with hard to find quality and beauty reminiscent of the movie colony days of Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. This stunning Movie Star home is where all of Paul and Kurt’s friends feel the spotlight shines on them!
