Moose Aly Guest House

Part guest house, part rental property, this accessory dwelling for our client in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont rethink the form and function of a traditional New England cape.

Positioned less than 300 feet away form the main house, we positioned this Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) among forested stand of trees to create visual separation and privacy. Blind doors are clad - seamlessly - with the same yakisugi siding as the rest of the ADU cabin. Maintenance equipment and property management supplies are stored out of sight of guests.

A full-width deck creates an indoor / outdoor experience, both from the living / kitchen / dining space and the ground floor bedroom. The design of the public space combines a full kitchen, dining area and living room in room within a small footprint.

Up in the loft, we’ve carved out a dedicated, two-person office area that’s perched above the living, dining and kitchen space. Perfect for work-from-home activities and gaining a new perspective.
